The Asia and the Pacific SDG Progress Report 2025, prepared by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), presents in-depth insights on progress and obstacles in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the Asia-Pacific region, highlighting the successes and challenges the region is currently facing.<\/p>\n\n
While Asia and the Pacific has made remarkable progress in industry, innovation, and infrastructure (SDG 9) and good health and well-being (SDG 3), progress toward achieving other goals has been slow, particularly in responsible consumption and production (SDG 12), quality education (SDG 4), and decent work and economic growth (SDG 8). Furthermore, progress in climate action (SDG 13) has regressed alarmingly due to the region’s vulnerability to disasters and continued greenhouse gas emissions.<\/p>\n\n
The report also highlights data gaps that may impact SDG implementation and progress monitoring, particularly affecting marginalized communities.<\/p>\n\n
However, this report also presents examples of innovative community-level cooperation for problem-solving, demonstrating the potential of local participation in bridging evidence data gaps and ensuring that development toward achieving SDG goals is truly inclusive and leaves no one behind.<\/p>\n\n
