The 2024 Annual Progress Report of Energy Compacts was released on September 25, 2024, at the opening of the EnergyNow SDG7 Action Forum in New York. This report demonstrates that new commitments to increase renewable energy and enhance access to electricity and clean cooking technologies by 2030 have brought the total financing and investment pledged through Energy Compacts to $1.4 trillion USD since 2021. Energy Compact supporters have helped provide electricity access to 177 million people, an increase of 48 million people in the past year, and clean cooking access to 23 million people since 2021. A total of $201 billion USD has been mobilized or spent for Energy Compact implementation, nearly tripling from 2023, with the majority of these funds being used for installing new renewable energy generation capacity.
