The 17 Sustainable Development Goals covering development dimensions in human development, economy,
environment, peace and justice, and development partnerships are aligned with the country’s development approach under the 20-Year National Strategy, which aims for
sustainable national development based on good governance principles and serves as a framework for formulating national development plans with consistency and integration
to develop the country to be secure, prosperous, and sustainable, leaving no one behind.
Following the Committee for Sustainable Development’s approval of the principles of Thailand’s SDG Roadmap, which comprises implementation in
6 areas including linking the Sustainable Development Goals with the country’s 3-level plans, the National Economic and Social Development Council has conducted a comparative analysis of the linkages between the 169 SDG targets and 37 issue-level targets of the 23 Master Plans under the National Strategy (Level 2 plans) and 140 sub-plan targets of the Master Plans (Y1) to compile the alignment
of development direction setting at national and international levels, as well as to enhance the efficiency of monitoring, inspection, and evaluation of government agencies’ operations. It was found that all 17 main SDG goals and 169 sub-targets are correlated and aligned with all 6 aspects of the National Strategy and are consistent with the sub-plan level targets of all 23 issues of the Master Plans under the National Strategy, which government agencies can use as supporting information for formulating Level 3 projects and plans to simultaneously achieve both the Sustainable Development Goals and
the targets of the National Strategy and Master Plans.
